Transfer Order: Then and Now
Business users would often ask me about the utility of In-Transit Location for Transfer Order functionality of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. My answer to them would be until the consignment reaches the destination (Transfer-to-Code) this feature provides information about its In-Transit status. This would serve a specific purpose of not letting people wait without information till the consignment is delivered from source Location (Transfer-form Code). After the release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 and Business Central we see an addition to this Transfer Order functionality in the form of the Direct Transfer feature. Let us suppose the transit time between source and destination location is less, then business user can directly show a material transfer between two locations with out showing the transit period.
